Gantner Instruments is not the first name customers think of when looking for a vibration monitoring system for motors, pumps, fans, cooling towers and other rotating machinery..
However, if you are in the market for a reliable vibration monitoring system that is affordable and does not cost you an arm and leg to own then Gantner is the brand for you. The MTBF for Gantner is 30 years and they do not obsolete a model every few years to force users to upgrade to a new model.

Gantner offers open source hardware that can be customized to each user's specific requirements. You can use your own sensors or you can use our recommended sensors.
You can also use your own software or you can use the Gantner software. You can decide whatever works best for you. Gantner empowers you instead of tying you down to proprietary hardware and software.
If you have many parameters or rotating machinery to measure and monitor then Gantner's stackable system will lower the cost of monitoring per channel as the channel count increases.
For example, a vibration transmitter can average US$900 (the price of sensors and other accessories are not included here). If you want to monitor three points then the transmitter will be lower in cost. However, if you want to monitor thirty two points then the cost of the transmitter will be US$28,800 (32 units X US$900). However, a Gantner 32-channel system will cost around US$23,300 for a system with one controller, 4 signal conditioner (4-channel per conditioner) and software - which is some 20% cheaper!
In addition, if you are using hazardous area vibration sensors you would typically need to use safety barriers which adds to the cost. However, Gantner is galvanic isolated which means you do not need to use safety barriers - a cost savings!
Gantner is easy to maintain and troubleshoot. Gantner has made their hardware easy to troubleshoot based on their experience in the test and measurement markets where a measurement system can measure thousands of channels.
So you can imagine how difficult it is to troubleshoot the system if there is any problem. Not to mention that after identifying the problem you still need to fix it by reprogramming it. With Gantner you just replace the faulty hardware slice and it will be up and running before you even finish making a cup of coffee.
If you are interested in using Gantner in your plant but not sure if it is the right approach for you feel free to contact us at sales@vibration.company for a presentation. You can also do a proof-of-concept to test it out.
